Description
100% "Real Deal Crab Meal," offers the Isopod breeder the ability to be a preventive and proactive breeder. We have found here at RubberDuckyIsopods.com that the focus for us is to find ways to combat Mother Nature by using Mother Nature to cure these issues.
One way Mother Nature defends predators is by using Chitin. This form like the Insect Frass, provides Chitin but the Crab Meal adds another immense amount of Beneficial Micro-Organisms!
Chitin pronounced ("KITE-in") adds an immense amount of Beneficial Micro-Organisms to help build an ALIVE and THRIVING Bio-Active soil substrate. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognizes Chitin to help protect against Grey Mold, Fungal Pathogens and NON-Beneficial Nematodes!
Building a thriving Soil FoodWeb substrate begins by building immense soil diversity and there is NOTHING better than that for the money then, Chitin (Crab Meal).
"Real Deal Crab Meal" allows Isopod breeders the ability to improve overall Isopod health as well as reproduction rates! In addition to proper leaf litter and decaying wood, your Isopod colonies will continue to reproduce at increased rates when focusing on diet diversity.
Our 100% American Sourced Crustacean Exoskeleton "Real Deal Crab Meal" contains NO harsh chemicals or preservatives and have a shelf life of up to 2 years, providing your Isopods a healthy super food source and soil protectant for years to come.
Here at Rubber Ducky Isopods, our goal is to educate our customers so they can truly enjoy the hobby of keeping Isopods; from FEEDERS and CLEAN UP CREWS to high-end DESIGNER Isopods.

Traditional Isopod Food Recommendations We Do Not Agree With:
Fish Flakes: Especially within new Vivarium or Terrarium setups, using fish flakes as an Isopod food source seems to attract a variety of unwanted vector pests and disease issues. In a newer Bio-Active substrate setup, adding fish flakes allows mold to take hold usually within 24 hours; bringing fungus gnat flies as well as Detritivorous mites (Non-Beneficial Mites) to your Isopod substrate.
